Birthday Celebration of Eminent Personalities 

Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

The birthday of our Father of the Nation, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi is observed by Vidyasagar College of Education on every October 2. The programme comes to a start with the lamp lightening and offering garlands and flowers to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. Our honourable Principal delivers a speech on the life history of “Bapuji” followed by the cultural programme organized by the students. Debate and drama are also arranged by the students to honour the contribution of Mahatma towards the national cause. The celebration always ends with a useful note to the students.

Rabindra Jayanti Celebration

The birth anniversary of Kaviguru Rabindranath Tagore is observed in Vidyasagar College of Education every year on May 7. Numerous cultural programmes and events, such as: Kabipranam – the songs (Rabindra Sangeet), poetries, dances and dramas, written and composed by Tagore, are organized and performed by the trainees in this particular day. The programme begins with lighting the lamp to mark the Nobel Laureate’s birthday followed by honoring him with garlands. The teachers also take part in the celebration by reciting lines from his renowned works. The celebration ends with a note citing lies from his poems.

Bhanu Jayanti Celebration

On July 13, Vidyasagar College of Education observes the birth anniversary of the eminent Nepali poet Aadikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya. To commemorate the birthday of this great poet, verses from his works like Ramayana are read out in the rhetorical form by the teachers as well as the students. The students also contribute to the programme by delivering a speech on his early life, career and writings. The highly revered Nepali poet is honoured with garlands and flowers.
