Alumni Meet

The Alumni Meet is held in the college annually to associate with the former students of the college. Through this programme the current students also get a chance to interact with their seniors and get to know the possibilities of employment. This meet also provides a platform for the previous students to communicate with their friends who they have had lost contact with. This kind of association has always benefitted the college as they get advises and suggestions from the members of the alumni.

Basanta Utsav

Holi, the festivals of colours is celebrated in Vidyasagar College of Education with pomp and show. All the students drape themselves in yellow sarees (girls) and kurta payjamas (boys) and smear colours on one another. The celebration starts with a beautiful Rabindra Sangeet followed by dance and recitation by the teacher trainees. Subsequently they start playing with colours and bow before the teachers and gain blessings from them.

College Picnic

To foster unity, integrity and harmony Vidyasagar College of Education has successfully organized College Picnic for the teachers, students and non-teaching members over the years. The to-do list is prepared beforehand by the teacher in-charge and the cooking part is done on the picnic itself. The destinations where the college has arranged for picnic are Dudhia picnic spot, Sevoke Road river shore, M.M.Terai, Panighatta, Gorumara Forest, Mukti river shore etc. and the students have liked and enjoyed each time. Relishing dishes are prepared for breakfast and lunch for all the members of the college. Students make themselves engrossed in dancing, singing games, etc.

College Sports

Sport is one of the revitalizing activities that is required in any field. In this regard, Vidyasagar College of Education organizes Annual Sports Meet every consecutive year to make the students participate in co-curricular events and also to gear them up for upcoming sports activity. Games like cricket, throw ball, hit the wicket, badminton, sprint, high jump, long jump, ludo, chess, carom etc. are arranged for the students. The event is flagged off by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour. The winner and the runners up are felicitated with trophies and medals.

Saraswati Puja

The Goddess of knowledge, Devi Saraswati is always worshipped by the students of Vidyasagar College of Education on the auspicious day of Vasant PAnchami. Each year under the guidance of all the teachers the students of both semesters organize Saraswati Puja in the college campus. To perform the holy ritual, they bring the idol of the goddess and decorate the hall where the ritual is to be performed. The students make colourful rangolis and use craft items for decoration. The puja begins in the morning with the rituals performed by the priest with the assistance of the students. Towards the end of the puja, holy hymns are chanted and prasads- fruits, khichdi are distributed to everyone present there.
